First update
Shipped the flight tracker. First 100 users in week one.
Added multiplayer in under 24 hours
Got stuck on WebRTC. Cursor's cofounder Michael Truell reached out personally and helped sort the routing. Less than an hour later, players could fly together in real time using a Python WebSocket server.
Elon Musk retweeted it. Added Mars.
"Wow, this is cool. AI gaming will be massive." — Elon. I added a Mars planet that night because it's his favourite. Peak 26,000 players online simultaneously. The game survived a DDoS attack the same week.
$1M ARR in 17 days
In-game billboard slots: $5k/month, sold out. F-16 upgrade: $29.99, hundreds of buyers. Day 17: $87k MRR = $1M ARR. 320,000 total players. Zero paid ads. The whole game is still one HTML file.
What actually made it go viral
It wasn't the code quality. It was posting every update publicly on X, in real time. The community watched it get built. They felt ownership. When Elon tweeted, they already knew the story. Build in public is not a cliché — it's the distribution strategy.
